Dogs and Dogs at the Duck
Hop heads... tell your taste buds to start their engines. We've secured a extremely rare keg of...
Wait for it...
Waaaait for it.....
Blue Dot IPA by Hair of the Dog! ON DRAFT!!! Awe-some!
In celebration of this monumental event (maybe not MONUMENTAL, but pretty fricken cool, anyway) we have created our "Dogs and Dogs at the Duck" event... and no, all you owners of the canine variety, you still may not bring your dog into the bar. We know that sucks, and we are sorry.
Moving along...
So what goes the best with a wonderful, hoppy, complex, drinkable, kick-ass double IPA like Blue Dot? A selection of salty, greasy, spicy, meaty brats in a bun. There will even be some vegi-dogs for you lousy hunters. Yeah! That's right! It's a hot dog bar!
Hot dog bar? Waddaya mean? This bar is already full of hot dogs!
It's the best of the wurst.
It's a wiener every time!
(insert your own terrible pun here)
Get on with it already?
Alright, here's the details-
Sunday, April 1st. No Foolin'!
5pm - till we run out of stuff
$7 Pints of Blue Dot
$4 Trips to the Dog Bar
See you then...

Backpack drive!
Spring is here! Which means spring cleaning is here! Time to come out of winter hibernations and shed that layer of unwanted dross, from ourselves and our homes. As you crack one of the lovely spring seasonals out at the moment (Snoqualmie Spring Fever Grand Cru, yum yum) and start going through the closets, keep in mind for the next week or two we will be collecting gently used backpacks for kids in need. You can feel good about getting rid of a little clutter before you continue drinking that 6-pack and decide it is just easier to just keep the door shut.

Think and Drink Limerick
Every week during our Think and Drink Trivia the winner of that week gets to pick one of the topics for the next week. This week's choice topic... in limerick form!
There once was a ring of power
Goodness and light it would devour
The one to rule them all
Can the hobbit resist the call
And save them in their darkest hour
Breakfast at Tiffany's, right?

Russian River Supplication Sour Brown
Although typically I scoff at the fervor to which the name Russian River inspires in the world of beer geekdom, I have to admit that when we are able to secure even a tiny amount of their product (thanks Matt) I do a little dance of joy because, let me face it, they make damn, damn fine beer.
Russian River Supplication:
Brown Ale aged in used Pinot Noir barrels from local Sonoma County wineries. It is aged for about 12 months with sour cherries, brettanomyces, lactobacillus, and pediococcus added to each barrel. Flavors from the cherries, Pinot Noir and oak balance each other nicely with a little funk from the brett.
These babies are pricey at $12 for a 12oz cork and cage bottle. Real sour beers take a looong time to make and most breweries need to have a separate area to brew them to stave off the chance of cross infection from the little critters that make sour beers wonderfully tart and refreshing. This is why so many sours have that high price tag. This beer is ready to drink now or cellar for a special occasion.
