One of the things we pride ourselves on at Seattle's Duck Island Ale
House is our beer selections, both on tap and in bottles. Yes, we only have 27 beer selections on
tap and The Taphouse has 140 something, but we believe we source only the best
– really good, high end, sometimes hard to find beers – IPA’s, Stout’s, a Pale Ale or
two. Either way, we deliver great
beer. We also have great bottled
beers, and a lot of them, including this one: Monk’s Café Flemish Sour Ale which Beer Advocaters rate a worthy 87, out of a massive 1,639 ratings.

They actually don’t qualify it as “great”…they qualify it as “very
good”, but we won’t split hairs. If the flavor doesn't make this beer great in your book, the $4.75 price tag certainly will.

Island anytime.
Taste: Mildy tart sour ale. Light bodied with a lactic/sour
nose and a bit of sweet and sour in the finish. Very refreshing!
Style: Flemmish
Red/Brown Belgian Ale.
Brewed in Philadelphia, for Monk’s Café. It’s “Oud Bruin” in style which is a
traditional blend of young and old beers.
It pours a “dark and bubbly amber brown”

A little trivia - Monk’s Café is also the name of the fictional coffee shop in
